Hope you’ve had a good day, I tried Skyping Rich a few times but I suspect you’re at one of the many parties, you mentioned, with him.
We had a brilliant day ourselves. Josh came into our room at about six to report that Santa had been, so we got up and opened a bunch of presents, including the two boxes of Lego, dinosaur themed Matchbox cars and the Old Spinosaurus from Dinosaur Train, that you bought him.
He was very pleased but just a little disappointed that he hadn’t got the Octopod from the Octonauts, which he had written himself on his Xmas list. He was, therefore, rather glad when Pops turned up with some more presents, including the Octopod!
We made breakfast, fruit toast, nice bread, hash browns, poached eggs, etc. and chatted to Bob until about half eleven, then headed to Julie’s.
There were even more presents at Julie’s house, plus all the relations you could shake a stick at (don’t worry, we didn’t). There was food and drink and sun and then swimming in the pool between courses. What can I say, my first Australian Christmas!!!
I forgot to take my phone this a’vo but thought you might like a picture which sums up Joshua’s day, as it shows his Octopod, Lego, beach towel and bathers plus his new school bag, as well as the beanbag that Janice bought him, which he also loves.
It’s been a good day, but I have missed you all.
Lots of love

Sorry I’ve been quiet, as you can imagine I’m still recovering from working five days a week!
Our weekend was really good, on Saturday we did some bits of shopping, washing and tidying. Sunday was spent at the zoo, hence the picture of the tree kangaroo!
Joshua is still loving doing dinosaurs at school, the second picture is him wearing the dinosaur hat he made.
Yesterday an email was sent out for my work Xmas party. It’s an evening do at Adventure World, a water park with roller coasters, etc. near our old house at Bibra Lake. Joshua is VERY excited! …and he doesn’t even know yet that a new dinosaur themed bit is meant to be opening a couple of days before the party.
Deanne’s birthday weekend is also looking a bit on the hectic side. There is a film night, hosted by Joshy’s school on the Friday night. Either Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, The Lego Movie or Rio 2. All of which meet with Joshua’s exacting standards. On the Saturday we’re having a family get together at a café near the river. Then Sunday is the Tyco (where Rick works) Xmas party, which we’ve also been invited to.
Last night I went to our local pub to meet up with one of the guys from my writing group. He and I are being handed the reins by the outgoing chairperson/boss man. We chatted for a couple of hours, had a couple of pints, and came up with a whole bunch of ideas for how to proceed.
Gotta go now, nearly bed time.
Today Deanne went to visit the Zoo to find out a bit about what her job will entail and the working practices, etc. It turns out she’ll actually get her own office, which I think is pretty cool!!!
Joshua, Julie and I went to Joshy’s school to have a look around. It’s shut for the summer holidays but we wandered around the grounds and looked in the windows (they said it was alright to do this). It looks quite nice, and Joshua was interested in the stuff hanging up in his Kindergarten classroom.
This afternoon we took our car to get the windows tinted (“darkest legal”), which has made it look a bit “gangsta”, but it does keep it much cooler. Bob met us there as he had advised us which tinting place to use, while the car was being done he took us to a local shopping centre and let Joshua choose his Xmas present from the National Geographic store, a stegosaurus which you can unscrew the bits from, take to bits then put back together, we did that once we got home, he loves it.
Tomorrow is a rest day, then later on Julie and Rick are taking Josh away with them for the night, which we are a little nervous about, but I’m sure they’ll be fine.
