What’s Going On???

…is pretty much how I feel at the moment. The last few weeks have just flown by, mainly because one of my colleagues was off work for a month, so I’ve been doing every other week on call. Quite tired!

On the bright side, I had the day off work yesterday, mainly to look after Joshua as Deanne was busy. In the afternoon I took him out for an ice cream and a babyccino, I had a Diet Coke. Afterwards we took a ball to the nearby park and had a kick/throw/run about, as per the picture.

Not much planned for the weekend, although I’m swapping weekends with one of the other guys so will be on call (again), although that’s a pretty good thing as it leaves me free for Joshua’s “friend” party next weekend.

Deanne and I have both had man-flu this week too, I even had to come home early from work on Tuesday because I felt so grotty. I thought I was better but was not so great again this morning. Nearly over it now though, touch wood.

Will probably Skype at the weekend.

Tea at Julie’s

Dear Mum,

Wednesday is, of course, Joshy/Nana day, however Deanne and I were invited over for dinner. A lovely roast dinner with Yorkshire puddings, very tasty. I was apparently quite hungry as I finished mine, put down my knife and fork and then looked up to find everyone else was still eating.

I’m on earlies this week, so I’m a little tired. On the bright side I do tend to be home in time to go pick Josh up and e.g. Go to gymnastics with he and Dee.

We went to see the Foo Fighters on Sunday night. As ever they were fantastic, I even did a review on my writing ‘blog. Talking of which, I seem to be doing rather a lot of writing for various things, but I’m loving it!

I’m sure lots of other exciting things have been happening lately too, but getting up at five in the morning isn’t conducive to a good memory so I’ll try and remember for next time.

The picture was taken last Friday after Josh got his Wow Box toy, which he’s waving about after doing his Uncle Richard world animal puzzle, all by himself. Not an easy puzzle!

What A Week

Dear Mum,
I should have gone to bed an hour ago but I’ve had a tough week, taking everything in at my new job and thought I’d finish watching the movie I started the other day, Timecrimes, a Spanish language, present-day, time travel thing…better than you might think!
I’ll try and Skype you over the weekend to tell you what’s been going on, but now I’m going to hit the sack. The pic’ is another one, taken on a different day, of the boy wearing the froggie head-light that Auntie Donna bought him.

Day Two

Dear Mum,
At the end of my second day I’m quite tired! The first day mainly consisted of being shown around the warehouse and setting up my computer and account.
The guys I’m working with are both from Brazil, Fil and Gui. So I have a (nother) Type 1 boss and two Brazilian co-workers. Freaky!
Gotta go to bed but I’ll leave you with a picture from the weekend.

Bedtime

Dear Mum,
As you can imagine, after my first (sort of) full week at work I’m tired out.
So I’ll just say I had a good day at work, the estate agents have said we can move out whenever we want – which makes it s bit less stressful finding a new place to live, we bought a Chinese meal for dinner, and last but not least, Joshua was apparently a really good boy at daycare today and got the award below.

Tired Out

Dear Mum,
Unsurprisingly I’m a bit on the tired side.
I’ll try and Skype some time over the weekend to tell you about it.
The picture is fairly indicative of my day.

Lunch At Nana’s House

Dear Mum,

Just a short one as it’s getting late.

More Play-Doh (I’ve been spelling it wrong all this time, who knew!!!) this morning, followed by getting ready then heading out to Julie’s house at about midday for lunch.

It was very nice and we all had a good time, Joshua’s favourite bit seemed to be burying himself in covers on the sofa, seems to be a bit of a theme at the moment. I completely forgot to ask Olive if any of the Lucks had been involved in the first world war, like you asked. Sorry about that, If I see her again before the talk I’ll try and remember.

Tomorrow I have to set off early to go to CentreLink to update my details as their computer system has messed up my records, so I can’t register as a jobfinder, etc. Which I should probably have done ages ago anyway!

But now bed time.

Love

Dan
