House Hunt

Dear Mum,
Sorry about the lack of Skyping, we’ve been a bit busy looking for a new place to live. However we have found a nice place not far from Joshy’s school and are putting an offer in tomorrow (I think).
Today I did some of Rich’s work after dropping the boy off at kindy, but then filled out a form for the place in Leeming, which took up most of the rest of the day.
Met Deanne at said house after she finished work, for a look around myself. It’s a bit old fashioned but really near his school. We then went to look at a couple of others in Bibra Lake, just to make sure. One was e-normous, much too big really, and the other was too near some power lines. So it’s hopefully the Leeming one, if they’ll have us!
Made a potato and sweet potato cheesy bake for tea with some veg’.
Tomorrow is work. Will try and Skype you on Thursday a’vo as I’m also chatting to Rich, Nige and Steve that afternoon.
The picture was taken at tea time. You’ll notice I had a very grown up kind of drinking receptacle, as Josh hadn’t finished his drink earlier and I only noticed after pouring him an orange juice.

What A Day

Dear Mum,

It really is like buses! Got up this morning and fed and watered Joshua, Deanne went off to work and Joshy got dressed while I was showering. When I finished i came back to find him in the sitting room as per the picture. I was very impressed.

I dropped Josh off, got home and finished a job application to work for the government, not sure if I’m suitable but there’s no harm in trying. I had lunch and then got dressed up and headed out for another job interview. This one went very well, it’s for one of the Universities and is as a Service Improvement Coordinator. I did most of the talking and I felt pretty good afterwards, all I can do now is wait to hear back.

So in a couple of days I have gone from having no job to having one definite offer and one very positive interview. I also got a call just before I was leaving from another recruiter looking to fill a couple of positions for a resources (mining) company, which also sounds pretty similar to what I’ve done before.

Meanwhile Deanne also had an interview today, I’ll let her tell you about that next time we speak. I think it went okay, but as with mine you never really know until they call you up and offer you a job!?

Dee picked the boy up this afternoon and I made tea when I got back from my interview, just slice and mash. While he was finishing tea I was making up some poems about food and animals but I couldn’t find an animal to rhyme with corn. Joshua, without a pause said “prawn”. Both Deanne and I were very impressed. Sadly I can’t actually remember the rhyme, but his speed of thought was quite amazing.

Gotta go to bed now, we’re all a bit tired.

Housework

Dear Mum,

Today was mostly a housework-y sort of day. I washed our sheets, hoovered and did various other things that needed doing. Next Thursday we have an inspection of the house by the owners/estate agents so I’m starting to think about getting it clean and tidy for that.

I actually finished my job application. I got the educational institution wrong yesterday, it’s ECU not UWA, thankfully not the Joondalup campus this time though. I sent it off this evening after Deanne had read through it.

Joshua had a really good day at daycare today, no unwanted hugging took place and he didn’t get into trouble at all. Hopefully all our reiteration has finally got through to him. Touch wood!

We had a late tea because Deanne’s cousin Sharon came round to drop some things off that Deanne ordered. After we’d all had a bit of a chat and she had left we went to the local fish and chip shop and brought chips and potato fritters for tea. Joshua also got an ice cream for being such a good boy today.

Because it was late after we finished tea Joshy didn’t have a bath, just a toothbrush and story then bed, although we did spend a couple of minutes sorting out the pile of 50 cent pieces Olive sent over for him the other day and putting them in his various money boxes.

Not sure what we’re doing this weekend, although Sharon suggested that you can get cheap Quorn and Linda McCartney veggie stuff at Spud Shed so we’ll probably make a trip there at some point. We were also thinking about heading into Fremantle just for a bit of a day out.
